Engineering doesn't stop when I leave the office.

As an engineering manager at Google, I spend my days building
global-scale software systems. But my roots are in the physical world.

This portfolio documents my personal passion projects—from competitive
robotics and mechatronics to structural home renovation and fine woodworking.
It represents my love for solving complex physical problems, managing logistics,
and executing designs from a blank sheet of paper to a finished build.

Home Design & Renovation

A full transformation of my 1970s home. See dramatic before-and-after photos showcasing extensive remodeling, open floorplan and natural light effects. When the original architectural plans fell short of the vision, I took over the design personally using Home Designer and project managed a construction firm through the implementation.

Before

After

Robotic Quadruped

A robotic four-legged walker, 3d printed and built from scratch. Uses a NVidia Jetson, and code for 4-legged walking. Built for experimentation and learning in robotics.

Self Balancing Skateboard

Back before "OneWheel" became popular, I built a self balancing skateboard from Razor scooter parts and an Arduino.

Murphy Bed

Space-saving meets craftsmanship: designed and constructed a custom Murphy bed with integrated cabinets, power and lighting. The project included woodworking and paint gun finish work.

Robotics Mentorship

I've mentored VexIQ and FRC robotics teams in both software and hardware. I am also a "Pit Mentor", ensuring that fast paced competitions run smoothly.

Flagstone Patio

Excavated, then poured a 6" concrete foundation, followed by puzzle-perfect layout and setting of flagstones.

Walnut Front Door

I built a solid walnut door for our home's entryway. Started with raw lumber, planed, cut and assembled the door.

Guest Bathroom

I designed and personally renovated a small bathroom to create a contemporary look, complete with floating walnut shelves, travertine accent wall, and a curbless shower.

Cake Decorating

For kids birthdays I've gotten creative with cake decorations. On the left is Newt Scamander's briefcase from "Fantastic Beasts". On the right, the Duel on Mustafar.
